How to tailor your resume for a job.

Getting a job in this economy is hard, and things become even harder when you have no experience.

A few years ago, I was in the same boat. I didn’t have any internship experience and it felt like the world didn’t want to give me a chance because I didn’t have an internship experience. Sadly, when I did manage to get an internship offer, my immigration status didn’t allow me to accept it. So, I graduated college with no internship experience.

If you have some internship experience, great but if you don’t you still have the opportunity to make yourself standout.

So how should I tailor my resume.

Heading:

  1. Name
  2. Phone Number
  3. Email
  4. Address (if you are desperate I recommend putting an address in the city that you are targeting.
  5. Github/ Personal Website: work portfolio

Education Section:

Add your major, minor GPA if greater > 3.3.

Additionally you can have a section on your coursework if you don’t have much experience.
