Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
When was the last time you disagreed with a friend, colleague, or co-worker? Did it feel uncomfortable? Were you at unrest with the experience? Did you wish that the awkward situation would never happen again? To be honest, I have. I can recall numerous times where I have hoped for some uncomfortable situations to never occur again. But in retrospection, I realized that most of my growth has happened through painful conditions. Learning occurs when one steps out of their comfort zone.
Let’s explore some examples from Galileo’s time. During his contemporaries believed that the earth is round, so much as to, they ostracized him. The contemporaries did not want to accept his discovery as it was heresy for them, a view that was an outlier and confounded them. Little did they know that the outlier was, in fact, the absolute truth. Had it not been for the disagreement, we would not have known we would not have learned the whole truth.
